The National Intellectual Property Researchers Association (NIPRA) is a professional, non-profit association, which recognizes the critical
importance of a world-class research facility to the cause of invention, and
of the value of intellectual property to its owners. The Association is
dedicated to the betterment of the United States Patent and Trademark system,
and in particular, to improving the ability of Members to provide services
essential to the greater Intellectual Property Community. The purpose of
NIPRA shall be:
To identify and work diligently to resolve those issues related to the
Patent and Trademark services in which Members are engaged, and to represent
Members as a group in a unified and professional way before the United States
Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the United States Congress, and other
entities in matters directly affecting the services Members provide.
To engage the USPTO and U.S. Congress in ongoing, substantive discussions
regarding their provision of public services and facilities, and to present
the public users' views to the USPTO and the U.S. Congress on all aspects of
existing, publicly used systems and services; on proposed changes to those
systems and services; and on means-for improving those systems and services.
To keep Members apprised of changes and updates to USPTO policies and
procedures related to services and facilities provided to the Public.
To enhance the personal and professional growth of our members.
The Association is controlled solely by its members through its duly
elected officers. NIPRA membership is open to anyone having an interest in
the Association's goals, including patent and trademark researchers, document
service providers, patent and trademark attorneys and agents, and others
having an interest in the furtherance of the Association's goals. |
